Sigrid Shone

Originally from Germany, Sigrid is an artist and printmaker based in Fife. She is particularly known for her expressive drawings and prints of Seagulls but likes to experiment with new subjects and techniques.

Sigrid is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art School of Drawing and Painting where she won the Landscape Award: Sir Willie Gillies prize.

As a member of European Artists eV, based in Germany, she has participated and exhibited in art symposiums for nearly 30 years across Europe, including Finland, Hungary, Germany and Italy.

She was selected to take part in the National Millennium Project ‘Leabhar Mhor’ in 2000. An Leabhar Mòr was published in 2002, it contains an anthology of poetry in Irish and Scottish Gaelic from the 6th to the 20th century combined with artwork and calligraphy by dozens of contemporary artists.

In 2015 Sigrid was selected to paint for the Sultan of Oman as part of the Oman Royal Fine Arts Festival.  Then in 2017 she exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London and has been a regular exhibitor at the Scottish Society of Artists and the Royal Scottish Academy including being a RSA Invited Artist.
