Sandra Dickie

Edinburgh-based Sandra is inspired by the colour, light and landscape of her native Scottish Borders and her travels around Scotland and Europe. Her work reflects her focus on contour and shape, and fascination with pattern and colour harmony.

“I’m fascinated by the patterns of fields, hedges and pathways.  I use mixed media (acrylic, watercolour, collage, pencil, ink) to interpret landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes.  Through colour I try to give a sense of an area and the feel of a place – a pop of orange, a sliver of red, a squiggle of turquoise – colours that sing together.”
