Lianne Westwick

Born in Rotterdam, now a long term resident of the West of Scotland, Lianne is a ceramic artist living and working near Glasgow. From childhood she has always been interested in making ceramic figures. Having studied Ceramics and 3D design at Cardonald College, followed by three years of figurative ceramics evening classes at GSA, she has continued to experiment and develop her skills.

She hand builds ceramic figures, ranging from the stylised to the more abstracted. Her focus is on the human figure. She likes to interpret the natural form with creative expression. She uses and enjoys experimenting with a wide variety of clays. Her figures are fired to earthenware temperature and finished with a combination of oxides, acrylics and waxes.
