Albie Sinclair
Albie was born in 1952 and grew up in rural Perthshire which remained his home until he recently moved to Tayport, Fife.
He graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in 1974 and had a career teaching Art in schools until he took early retirement in 2007.
Albie works in oils or acrylics. He tries to capture the atmosphere of the Scottish landscape, especially the washed out colours of the winter months. He often deliberately works with a limited number of colours, sometimes as few a four plus white.
His work has been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy of Art (RSA), the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW), the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI) and the Paisley Art Institute (PAI) as well as the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA).
Albie was recognised at the 138th Open Annual Exhibition by the RSW with his painting ‘Five Trees’ winning the Sir William Gillies Award in 2018.
